Simple inspiration

I went to a wedding at the weekend. The couple getting married had kept things simple in terms of decoration but the small touches were really lovely. The gorgeous cake above was made by a member of the family with layers of vanilla, chocolate and red velvet sponge, the chocolate cigarellos were added all around and piles of seasonal berries. Finished with ribbon bows in the wedding colours.

What I really loved were the table centrepieces, so simple yet so pretty.

How to make:
Use a clean glass jar/bottle with long necks (I've seen organic juice bottles in Sainsburys like this).
Cut enough twine to cover the neck of the bottle starting with the middle of the twine wrap around and around the neck until the ends meet and tie off on a heart shaped label. Fill with water and add sprigs of baby's breath or the flowers of your choice.
