Christmas Birdseed Wreath

The other day we bought a bird feeding station, and to celebrate I have made a Christmas birdseed wreath.

Ingredients:
Packet of birdseed
75g of lard (pork or beef)
Silicone mould (I got mine for a £1 in Poundland)
Shot glass
Ribbon

I melted 75g of lard in a saucepan and then stirred in enough seeds so that they were all covered, with only a little bit of liquid lard still visible at the bottom

Fill the shot glass half full with water (to act as a weight) and then place in the centre of the mould.

Spoon in the mixture to fill the mould. Place the mould in the fridge and leave to set for 24 hours.

After 24 hours remove the shot glass, wait 4 minutes and then remove the wreath from the mould. Thread the ribbon through the hole created by the shot glass and tie to create a loop. Then hang up outside and let your feathered friends enjoy the season!
